Why Mabin?

The Mabin School has been recognized as Canada’s first independent Ashoka Changemaker School. Changemaker Schools exist around the world, and are exemplary at instilling the qualities of leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and empathy.

Our progressive JK-6 school’s greatest advantages include:

  • dedicated, responsive teachers
  • challenging academics
  • an exceptional student-teacher ratio
  • a strong social-emotional curriculum
  • a deep sense of community

The Mabin School has an unparalleled team of passionate experts working together to give each student every opportunity to reach their full potential. The community size of 150 students is deliberate. At this size, every teacher knows every child, and can work closely with families to ensure that students’ academic and social needs are met. Our approach truly puts each child at the centre of their own education.

How to Apply

inquire

The first step in our process is to complete an online inquiry form. We will then contact you to answer any questions you may have, and to set up a personalized tour of the school.

tour

Once we receive an inquiry, we will contact you to arrange a private tour. This visit allows each prospective family to see the school in action, meet some of our staff, and truly get a feel for our community.

apply

After the tour, the formal application process begins. The non-refundable application fee is $200, which can be paid online. We encourage you to take a tour before applying.

interview

Once we receive a completed application, applicants and their families are invited for an interview. We offer a unique and cozy interview process where the comfort of your child is in our minds.

Tuition

The tuition fee is set each year by The Board of Directors. The tuition for the 2024-2025 academic year for a returning student is $33,592. There is also a one-time, non-refundable New Student Registration Fee for new students, due upon acceptance. The Tuition Payment Schedule for the upcoming year will be published at the end of January.

Financial Assistance

There is a small amount of financial assistance available. If you are interested in applying, please visit the Apple Financial Services website. If you would like to talk to someone from The Mabin School before applying, please call us at 416-964-9594

Refund Policy

Withdrawal: Requests to withdraw a student by a parent/legal guardian must be made in writing to the Principal. All outstanding non-tuition charges are immediately due upon notification of withdrawal of a student. If the request for withdrawal is received:

a) Before March 1: The school will retain the tuition deposit of $5,000 per child and the non-refundable New Student Registration Fee of $7,000 per child (if applicable).
b) Withdrawal between March 1 and June 30: 50% of all remaining fees are due and will not be refunded.
c) Withdrawal after June 30: 100% of all tuition fees are due and will not be refunded.

Furthermore, I/we understand that the school reserves the right to withhold all services, co-curricular opportunities and re-enrolment for the following academic year unless all fees and other charges have been paid in full by the required dates. I/We acknowledge that The Mabin School will assess a late payment charge on outstanding accounts at the rate of 1.5% per month (18% per annum).
