Welcome back! We are all so excited to have children back in the building today. Our staff has been working hard all summer long to prepare for another creative, productive, fun-filled adventure at Mabin. Still, without your kids, the magic is missing. We never know in September where they will take us by June. It is our great pleasure to follow their lead and travel with them on a unique learning journey each year.
Over the last week, we have been thinking a lot about creativity and listening with empathy. We have been learning together and playing together. We have been preparing a safe, rich, and inspiring learning environment for adults and children alike.
We have also been thinking hard about our Strategic Plan and reflecting on our successes and mistakes. Mistakes make our brains grow! Together, we have been setting goals for ourselves and our school so that we can continue to be a model of excellence in progressive education, build community, and amplify our learning spaces.
Thank you for continuing to be our partners in the important work of educating your children. You are their first teachers, and we count on your knowledge and input to make us better at what we do. We look forward to seeing all of you in person at Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 13, when we can tell you more about our plans for the year to come. Details are on our school calendar, always available and up-to-date on our website.
In the meantime, we are determined to have a fun, creative year together. Please join us in making play a priority. Play is the work of children — let’s help them get to work!
