Nancy’s Note: 05/25/2022

Faculty 2022-2023

Every year around this time, we let you know our plans for staffing in the upcoming year. Making these decisions is a lengthy process which involves surveying the staff, determining students’ needs, and devising a model that allows for collaboration, innovation, support, and enrichment at all levels. Inevitably there are life events which have an impact on our planning – pregnancies and moves, for example. As a Changemaker School, we are well-prepared to adapt. While we miss the presence of those people who leave our community, their impact remains. We embrace the opportunities to grow and learn that newcomers bring.

This year, we say a fond farewell to Lisa Sherman, whose family is moving to Ottawa. Lisa has been a leader in teaching and learning about equity, diversity, and inclusion, and has a gift for inspiring leadership in our students. We also say goodbye to Yara Salloum, whose expertise about special education benefited our Kindergarten students this year. Stefanie Spencer and Lisa Grassa are both on maternity leave next year, and we look forward to having them back with us soon. We know you join us in wishing all of these teachers well.

With these changes in mind, we have created an exciting model with a few new faces. Next week, we will tell you more about Gina Brintnell, Nigel Goodfellow, Pamela Lo, and Stefan Pawluk, who all join our staff in September 2022. They bring a diversity of gifts and experiences that will add to the collective power and knowledge of our teaching team. We have built this team carefully to allow for inspirational teaching and learning at every grade level. Here is next year’s teaching “line-up”:
