Our Remote Learning Plan provides for the continuous learning and wellbeing of our students, staff, and families. At the heart of our plan are our core values: inquiry, integration, reflection, and community. We see this extraordinary moment as an opportunity to practice the Habits of Mind, with special emphasis on the “foundational four”: listening with empathy, persisting through challenge, taking responsible risks, and managing impulsivity. Our Plan emphasizes flexibility, play, and relationships. It also continues to evolve based on our observations of the students, our growing understanding of best practices in remote learning, and feedback from our community. The creativity and ingenuity of our staff, students, and families have both delighted and amazed us during this unprecedented time in our history. We hope you enjoy this peek into remote learning at The Mabin School!

How We Are Learning
"I think we should look at this situation as an opportunity because kids like me get to try a new space to learn...You are dealing with this very well and it is a big help to everyone. So let’s just look at this situation like it is bittersweet."Grade 5 Student
"We also have to be a strong community when we are not together. We can do that by being helpful and kind to classmates, siblings, and teachers. It's like we are bringing a little bit of Mabin to a bunch of different places."Grade 6 Student
"I'm so amazed by the quality of the teaching staff at Mabin. There is such talent, and such dedication to the work and community. It is an incredible privilege as a parent to get the inside view on the marvellous teaching and people that make up our kids' experience at Mabin."JK Parent
"Amazing...I’ve been just blown away by the adaptability, resiliency, creativity and resourcefulness of all the staff. Really feeling so blessed to have Mabin in our lives."Grade 2 Parent
