The purpose of Alan’s life is to expand human perspective.
He has been lucky to work to try to fulfill this purpose in a multitude of ways along his journey to joining the Mabin board.
Alan was a founding member of Google’s first Global Business Strategy team while based in Mountain View, California. He subsequently moved to Singapore and ran a +$100M business for Google. He finished off his tour at Google working in Ghana focused on the deployment of high-speed internet infrastructure.
Alan was formerly a Management Consultant at Oliver Wyman in New York and graduated Dean’s list from the Richard Ivey School of Business, Canada’s leading business school, in 2006.
After all that stuff, Alan co-founded and was CEO Tokyo Smoke, the world’s first federally legal adult-use cannabis retailer. He was lucky to be part of building that business, taking it public as the CEO, and subsequently selling it to Canopy Growth for more than half a billion dollars, and then becoming the Chief Retail Officer at one of Canada’s largest companies.
Alan is an advisor and investor in a number of startups, including his role as the Chairman of Apothecanna, and Executive Chairman of arcana.
Once upon a time, Alan attended Mabin.
Alan loves skiing, loves music, loves meditation, loves reading and loves Mabin.
