Emily has been an active community volunteer with organizations that focus on children, education, healthcare and the arts. She has chaired or founded a number of fundraising events, collectively raising over $7 million for various organizations throughout Toronto, including: the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, the United Jewish Appeal, CJPAC (Canadian Jewish Political Action Committee), Camp Oochigeas and The National Ballet of Canada.
Emily has been a member of Mabin’s Board of Directors since 2014. She is also currently a member of the Board of Directors for SickKids Hospital Foundation and sits on the Development and Marketing subcommittee of Camp Oochigeas’ Board.
Prior to her community work, Ms. Burnett worked as a management consultant with SECOR Consulting.
Emily is a proud graduate of The Mabin School (Class of ’94)! She also graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania where she earned dual degrees from the Wharton School of Business and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (majoring in Structural and Systems engineering).
Emily lives in Toronto with her husband and their three children.
