Rhamiya is excited to teach math and physical education to students in Grade 1 this fall! She instantly fell in love with The Mabin School after learning about the school’s mission to create the next generation of original thinkers, adaptive leaders, and caring citizens. Rhamiya has a genuine interest in nurturing students’ academic development through culturally responsive education. She strives to actively create an inclusive learning environment where all students can reach their full potential while feeling valued and recognized.
After graduating from Nipissing University with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education Degree, Rhamiya worked with the Peel District School Board as an Occasional Teacher. In addition to her experience with PDSB, she has worked as a personal tutor helping students achieve their academic goals, a Summer Camp Counselor Lead with the Markham Museum, and a volunteer Teaching Assistant in a Kindergarten Autism Spectrum Disorder classroom. She has a wide range of experience working with students and is looking forward to further enriching her skills.
Outside of school, you can find Rhamiya either practicing yoga, exploring new bike trails, rock climbing, visiting museums, or discovering a new hobby.
