Mabin teachers are the heart of our school. Their passion and expertise, coupled with our small student-teacher ratio, sets our students up for success. Research shows that student success is closely linked to the relationships they have with their teachers. Relationships are seen as fundamental to all learning at The Mabin School.

Our teachers are supported by a team of professionals who accomplish all of the background work that makes it possible for all of us to put Mabin students and families first. At The Mabin School, every adult in the building is seen as a teacher. We all feel collectively responsible for the learning and well-being of each and every student.

Specialist Teachers

French, science, visual arts, library, physical education, health, and music are regarded as essential elements of a child’s learning experience and are all introduced in Junior Kindergarten. All of these subjects are taught by our Specialist Teachers and contribute to the development of the whole child.

Learning Strategies Teachers

Mabin has five Learning Strategies Teachers (LSTs) who are qualified special education teachers working at different grade levels. Together our Learning Strategies and Classroom Teachers support every child’s unique learning profile. The Learning Strategies team works closely with each class to develop and implement strategies and to accommodate students when they require enrichment or support in specific subject areas. In collaboration, our Learning Strategies and Classroom Teachers gather and share assessment information with our school team and parents.

Our Board

The Mabin School is governed by a Board of Directors whose responsibilities include: determining the school’s strategic direction, establishing policies and procedures, overseeing the school’s fiscal management, and setting academic fees. The Board consists of a range of individuals who may include parents, teachers, consultants and principals from other schools who meet at least six times per fiscal year.
